Reflection Activity:

Life Comes Fast – Preparing for Your Future

This week’s video is longer than the ones you usually watch, but it is important that you see it in full. The story in this video shows how quickly life can change and how the decisions you make now can shape your entire future.

Before we move forward in this program, it’s important that we stop, take this in, and really think about what life will look like when you’re an adult. Becoming independent isn’t easy, and if you don’t prepare now, life can become extremely hard and even trap you in situations that are difficult to escape.

This workshop is meant to help you:

  • Understand that life is real and happens faster than you think.
  • See why it’s important to prepare for adulthood early.
  • Realize that there are people who want to help you, but you have to be ready to accept it and do something with it.
  • Create a foundation to take your life, your future, and this program seriously.

Take your time watching the video, then reflect on the questions below. This is a moment to be honest with yourself about where you are, where you’re going, and how you’ll prepare for what’s ahead.

I feel this video displays two things. First, it displays grace and kindness for others. The judge extended his grace to the woman even though he didn’t know her, but he did know her story. On the other hand, this video displays a desperate cry, not for help, but of complaining from the woman. It also showed her resilience in her day to day life despite her hardships.
